About Us

WIX Architecture, established in 1995, is a youthful and vibrant firm. The firm has a broad range of experience, including mixed-use developments, wineries, commercial interiors, automobile dealerships, office buildings and custom homes. Establishing a balance between excellent design and the client’s goals and budget is the heart of the firm’s objective for successful projects.

The firm’s founder and Principal Architect, William Henry Wix, AIA, has twenty-two years of experience in the construction and architectural profession. The practical experience gained working for contractors Ed Foster Builders and Jess Rodriguez HVAC helped Henry to understand the need to prepare clear, concise plans that are buildable from the contractor’s perspective. Architectural experience with Alan Nichol, Kingwill & Associates and seven years with Sohl and Palmer Architects influenced Henry’s knowledge of the architectural profession, design style and business savvy.

WIX Architecture is working with Codding Enterprises on the newly announced Sonoma Mountain Village, the development proposed for the old Agilent site in Rohnert Park. WIX Architecture’s part in the project will be on the Mixed-use, Condos, Retail Apartments, and Townhomes.

The Moore Building, which Henry designed, has currently finished construction in downtown Santa Rosa, Healdsburg Avenue at 10th Street. The Moore Building is a mixed-use project of 9,889 square feet of retail space, 79 luxury apartments, 16,700 square feet of garden terraces and patios, and exercise/spa area and a media center.

While driving along Highway 101 in Sonoma County, several of WIX Architecture’s recently completed projects are visible: Victory Chevrolet and Chrysler Autoworld in Petaluma; Acura Dealership and Audiovideo Showroom in Santa Rosa; and National Storage Centers in Windsor. Maintaining and updating over one million square feet of interior tenant improvements such as Equity Office Properties have been a niche market that has been a mainstay and close to “recession proof” market throughout the years. Work for the Mondavi Winery, Beaulieu Winery and Simi Valley Winery are examples of a need the firm filled in our local agricultural community. Master planning “power” shopping centers from McMinnville, Oregon to Omaha, Nebraska with twenty other cities in between, has given the firm a broad regional experience in the Western United States.

As the economy continues to grow and expand in Sonoma County, so does WIX Architecture. In 2001, the firm moved into the Snoopy Office and Archive building, designed by WIX Architecture, on Hardies Lane, near the Charles Schulz Museum and the Redwood Empire Ice Arena.
